Where notifications go

Notifications — reminders, alerts, Finn's tips — are sent to your phone, where the Purple Wallet app is installed. The web version doesn't pop up notifications. So if you only use the website, that's expected; install the mobile app to receive them.

1. Turn them on in the app

Open SettingsNotifications and check that the notifications you expect are switched on. For reminders, make sure reminders are enabled and a time is set.

2. Allow them on your phone

Your phone has its own notification permission. If it's off for Purple Wallet, nothing arrives no matter the in-app settings. Open your phone's system settings for Purple Wallet and allow notifications. The app shows a hint when this permission is missing.

3. Send a test

On the Notifications screen, use Send test push. If the test arrives, delivery works and it's a matter of which notifications are turned on. If it doesn't, the problem is usually the phone permission in step 2.

4. Check the time and time zone

Reminders arrive at the time you set, in your time zone. If they come at the wrong hour, check that your time zone is correct in your profile.

5. Make sure your phone is signed in

Notifications go to a phone you've recently used and signed into. If you've been signed out or only used the web, sign in on the phone again so it can receive them.
